His Holiness the Dalai Lama

This coming academic year, 2006-2007 is an extra special year. Shortly after the start of the new academic year, UB will be hosting a special visitor and speaker in UB's biggest event ever.

While the entire 2006-2007 Distinguished Speaker Series plans have yet to be finalized, a special September 19th Distinguished Speaker event will take place. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be at UB to address the community on the theme of promoting peace across borders through education. This will be the culmination of a historic three-day visit to Buffalo by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who will receive a SUNY honorary doctorate in humane letters prior to the lecture.

The event details are as follows:
Tuesday, September 19, 2006
UB Stadium, UB North Campus 1:00 p.m.
Program begins 3:00 p.m.

ASEAN GSA will try to coordinate with GSA in getting tickets with seats in the same section for members. If you are interested in witnessing and participating in this historic moment with us, -please contact Sherene Cheah at spcheah@buffalo.edu to reserve your ticket.
